A couple in Worcester, Massachusetts,  set a new high for Kenyan parents and students in the US over the weekend when they handed over a set of keys to a brand new car, a Grey Audi A6 3.2  to their son who excelled in school, qualifying to join the prestigious Worcester State University, Samrack Media is reporting.

Rev Ben Mwangi and his wife presented the car to  Geoffrey Mwangi, 18,  who graduated from Millbury High School.

“They were only two black kids in his class and the only Kenyan,” writes Samrack News.

The dad had this to say on Facebook:

“You did your part and are now heading to Worcester State University. You have made us proud. Now your mum and I have kept our promise… here are the keys, enjoy.” Rev.Ben Mwangi

The mother,  Jane Mwangi, was quoted by Samrack Media as saying:

“God is our father, He has taught us how to appreciate and reward someone for good things and achieving certain goals. He is a God of deals and He has given us a deal for eternal life if we believe in his son.”

“Problem is when the deal is one way. Our kids do their part and we parents fail our side. Let’s appreciate our children who have worked hard on their side of the deal,” she said.

“We struck a deal with our son one year before he graduated and when he met his obligation, we  met ours too, A brand new grey Audi A6 3.2.” she added.

Here is a message from Audi, the German car maker: Sharply creased bodywork and a refined cabin make the A6 a well-tailored option for discerning drivers. The base powertrain is a 252-hp 2.0-liter turbo four, seven-speed automatic, and front-drive; all-wheel drive with an eight-speed automatic is optional. A 333-hp supercharged 3.0-liter V-6 with all-wheel drive is also available. A 7.0-inch infotainment system is standard; tech such as Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, adaptive cruise control, and automated emergency braking are optional.

A 2017 A6 Audi retails for between $48,00 to 68,000.

It was however not clear what the book value for the 3.3 horsepower is, as the company ceased production in 2011.

What a blessing to have parents who support their son in his goals. The gift the father and mother gave was greater than the Audi. It was their faith in him as a person and in God that his excelling was possible. This value of faith and hardwork, he will take with him for the rest of his life. Congrats to Geoffrey Mwangi, Rev Ben Mwangi and Jane Mwangi.
