Nyeri Town Member of Parliament Ngunjiri Wambugu on Friday developed cold feet and withdrew his petition seeking the ouster of Chief Justice David Maraga. Wambugu took to Twitter to explain why he was withdrawing the petition;

The legislator had filed the petition with the Judicial Service Commission.

This comes hot on the heels of a statement by president Uhuru Kenyatta prevailing upon the MP to withdraw the said petition.

“We have agreed to go back to the voters and go to the ballot,” he said.
