The National Super Alliance (NASA) co-principals are set to meet to address the grumbles of Kalonzo Musyoka’s Wiper Party against Raila Odinga’s Orange Democratic Party (ODM) party.

Wiper complained of being intimidated by ODM when it came to legislative leadership slots. According to a report by Media Max on Friday, January 12, the meeting will also address the same concerns from Musalia Mudavadi’s Amani National Congress party.

According to prior reports, Wiper cancelled a planned opposition People’s Assembly event that was scheduled to take place in Machakos County until, among other things, NASA addressed these particular grievances.

Wiper came up with a list of proposed leaders to take up parliamentary positions that were dominated by ODM. Among them, for the Minority Whip position, Wiper wanted Kathiani MP Robert Mbui to replace ODM’s Suna East MP Junet Mohamed.

Wiper also demanded a fresh NASA parliamentary list with leaders from all the opposition affiliate parties.

NASA presented Bungoma Senator/ NASA co-leader Moses Wetangula (Senate Minority Leader) Siaya Senator James Orengo (Deputy Minority Leader) , Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo Jr (Senate Whip) ,Nominated Senator Petronila Were (Deputy Senate Whip) , ODM Chairman/ Suba South MP John Mbadi (Minority Leader) among others for Parliamentary positions. This list caused outrage among some coastal leaders who criticized the imbalance of the nominations.

“The opposition is intact and pushing on with its agenda to consult on the way forward. The issue of sharing Parliamentary slots is still being deliberated,” said NASA co-leader Moses Wetangula on Thursday, January 11.
