Generous police officers have built a brand new permanent, beautiful house for the family of John Njenga, a brave cop who lost his life in the Garissa Yumbis attack in July.

The efforts were led Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i who together with senior National Police Service senior officials took action to ensure Njenga’s family lived comfortably after their bread winner was killed in a terror attack.

Matiang’i shared photos of the beautiful house on his Twitter handle on Friday, November 20 as he praised his colleagues for the magnanimous gesture.

“Today we honor the memory of John Njenga a gallant police officer who lost his life in Garissa Yumbis attack.I am grateful to senior officers in @NPSOfficial_KE who out of love and sympathy contributed to the completion of the late Njenga’s and wife’s home in Kibichiku Kiambu county,” he tweeted.

Netizens expressed mixed reactions on the move. While some appreciated it, others urged the CS to ensure the welfare of the men in uniform was well taken care of when they were still alive.

TUKO.co.ke sampled a few comments.

Dayosa said:

“May God bless you sir..the joy you’ve brought to the face of this family hrough this visit is amazing, kudos to the fellows who did a commendable job.”

Wambua wrote:

“There was a talk about life insurance for police to be paid in case they die in the line of duty. It’s a shame that you are opening a house built through contributions of officers!

Shree Tonyjee was happy:

“@FredMatiangi barikiwa (be blessed), a step in the right direction let’s be able to honor all gallant brave police and other service officers who die serving their country in such a manner, most are bread winners for their families and leave widows and kids as well. Thank you.”

In a related story, Kenyans in Nyeri Kenyans built a two-bedroom house for a family which lived in shanty.

Sarah and her family previously stayed in a dilapidated structure with broken walls and leaking iron sheets.

Their plight was highlighted by Kenyans on social media prompting well wishers to donate under the PayBill 891300, account 41941 and M-Pesa line 0726200126.

Love, they say, is strange and can even bring perfect strangers together who would go on to live happily ever after. Listen to this:

A Kenyan woman’s cooking skills have earned her a husband all the way from the United State. Anna Nairobi has tells of how she met an American man on social media through a social media skills platform and the two ended up getting married.

In a message primarily meant for her mom but which somehow ended up on the Let’s Cook Kenyan Meals Facebook Group , she says it all started with the man liking photos of food she had posted on popular group.

“East meets West,” she captions one of her photos.

She explains how the man, a military officer who lives in Tennessee, USA,  expressed interest in learning how to prepare a certain meal she had posted on the group.

The two then started chatting and went on to date online for three years before they agreed to take their relationship to the next level. Then, as they say, the rest is history.

“I was working in Dubai, we got talking and fell in love. We dated online for three years,” says Anna.

She says after she returned to Kenya from Dubai in February this year, she realized that her fiancé  was dead serious about getting married and, in September, he  traveled to Kenya to meet her.

The lovebirds tied the knot in Kenya  on earlier this month.

The Group, which boasts of over 2 million members, can easily be described as the de facto Kenya online kitchen where anyone can discuss all manner of issues regarding food. Many members have continued to congratulate the lucky couple.

A year after welcoming their first child, US-based Kenyan gospel singer Benachi and his wife have shown off their second baby bump.

Born Benson Ongachi and his wife, Joan Benachi, welcomed their baby girl Olivia Benachi, to the world in July 2019, who has since grown into an adorable baby girl.

One year down the line, the couple is already expecting baby number 2.

Baby number 2

This is after the two shared a beautiful video of a gorgeous Mrs Benachi walking the streets sweetly caressing her growing baby bump in loose, floral pants.

As she comes closer to the camera, she adorably places her hands around the bump that perfectly brings out the protruding belly.

The way she walks along the streets, gracefully and in excitement, it is undeniable that her joy is beyond explanation and she cannot just wait to hold her second bundle of joy in her arms.

She teases fans posing;

“Mommy of two ❣️. Olivia has a sibling coming ….. guess the gender pink or blue 💖💙.”

As her hubby on his end sweetly pens;

BREAKING NEWS! Olivia has a sibling coming up! … guess if it’s a boy or a girl!.

A question that saw many lean towards the gender of a baby boy, reasons best known to the them as the couple holds back the real gender of their unborn baby.

Messages of congratulations, warm wishes, love and adoration were sent their way with fans and fellow gospel artistes including Kambua excited for the couple.

The US-based couple that tied the knot in the USA in 2016, have relatively kept a low profile of their lives. With Benachi recently making headlines, following his grand purchase of a two-storey mansion and a Chevrolet luxury ride, taking many by surprise.

Sharing a photo of his double blessings in an enviable photo in what he called ‘Home sweet Home’ in Atlanta, Georgia.

It is all Congratulations to the beautiful, young couple!
