I’d never live in US again even if they gave me $1M a year – Koinange

Published

on

Kenyan media personality Jeff Koinange and his co-host Jalang’o on Hot 96 FM took time on Tuesday to discuss how Kenyans in the US live in their new home and how they act when they go back home to Kenya for holidays.

In a discussion that began with Jeff saying that he had met an old friend who has been living in New Jersey for 30 years, the conversation turned to why he would never return to America and slowly veering into the tribulations faced by Kenyans in the US.

“I will never go back to stay in America even if they gave me a million dollars a year,” Jeff proclaimed. “Nowhere be like Africa”

The duo also discussed what they thought were the reasons that Kenyans get “stuck” in the US. They at one point speculated that many in the US go back home only to find that their peers are doing pretty well and feel like they are no match.

Listen to the whole conversation here.

I have been in America for about 15 yrs now, I visit Kenya every about year, and I live my life. I think you guys just have a show to produce or your audience just don’t know. You probably have limited knowledge about the experience if some minority Kenyans or starters here. All I have heard is the hussling starters and most of us went through that. We have successful kenyas who I haven’t heard anything about, and after the first 3 years if being in America, if you handle your life well, success comes. Do your research and cover all areas instead if just laughing with ignorance. Most Kenyans come here at a young age. They obtain their education main while struggling away with any jobs they can get to make a living, But on the process they are building their professional careers. If you could follow this people after they graduate and see how they live, we should hear about that too.

How billions broke Senator Linturi’s love

Published

on

Meru Senator Mithika Linturi who is embroiled in a bitter battle with his estranged wife Maryanne Kitany, now claims she is after some of his assets, conservatively valued at Sh762 million.

Responding to the divorce and matrimonial property dispute filed by Kitany, Linturi, in an affidavit filed at Milimani Commercial Court in civil suit number 78 of 2018, stated that he was never married Kitany since he has been in a monogamous marriage with Mercy Kaimenyi Mithika since April 8, 2000.

“The application and supporting affidavit are a cloak for Kitany’s vicious and fraudulent scheme to deprive me of my rights, interests, and ownership of the company Atticon Limited and other properties. I have never celebrated a customary marriage or any other form of marriage with her,” he states.

He adds that Kitany was in a monogamous marriage with her ex-husband up to and including January 3, 2016 and hence, legally incapable of entering into marriage with him in 2015 as alleged in her affidavit.

Part of Linturi’s presentation to court is an affidavit by his daughter who claims her father introduced Kitany to her and her siblings around December 2017.“My father informed us that Kitany was a friend in distress.

My father also informed us that he had previously allowed her temporary stay at our Runda home,” her affidavit states.

She says Kitany put on the façade of a nice, friendly and supportive guest and would in the initial days take them out for dinners and shopping.

According to her, things spiraled out of control in January this year, when Kitany found out that her daughter got a navel piercing with her help.

“She even accused me of being in possession of marijuana and orchestrated my detention at a rehabilitation centre on the pretext that I was addicted to marijuana, while her real motive was to create a wedge between my father and I,” read part of Linturi’s daughter’s affidavit.

She states that when she was released from the rehabilitation centre, Kitany warned her that she needed to ‘behave’ and refrain from sabotaging her (Kitany’s) relationship with her father.“Ever since that warning, our relationship has been incompatible, like water and oil,” she adds.

On October, 25 last year, Kitany, a former chief of staff in Deputy President William Ruto’s office, obtained orders barring Linturi from entering their Runda home where they lived together.

Size 8: My hubby is not cheating on me

Published

on

Gospel musician Size 8 Reborn has dismissed reports that had been circulating claiming that her husband DJ Mo is a cheat.

Sometime last year, rumors circulated in the gospel circles alleging that Size 8 had walked out of their matrimonial home after she found out that her celebrity husband was stepping out on her.

The claims were almost made believable when DJ Mo later appeared in an interview and opened up about their marital ups and downs. In the interview the gospel DJ had admitted that there was a time his wife disappeared from their home for about a week, after an argument.

He explained that it was a normal couple disagreement even though people read so much into it.

Recently in an interview with radio host Masawe Jappani, Mama Wambo, as she lately prefers to be called, maintained that her husband of five years has been faithful to her in their marriage.

“It’s not true. Hizo ni rumours because rumours lazima ziwe lakini si ati ndoa yetu ni perfect,” she said when asked about the cheating claims.

“Of course tunakosana kama kawaida. Sisi hukaa chini tunaongea, sisi tumeona kwanza before we are celebrities, kuna Linet na Muraya kwa nyumba before Size 8 na DJ Mo so kila kitu tuna-handle pamoja. Kama kuna tashwishi watu wanaongea juu yake tunakuja ndani tunaongea tunaamua how we handle it.”
