BY OLIVIA MUNGWANA

In a video dating back to 2018, Chinese contractor and Transport CS James Wainaina Macharia seem to have crossed the president’s path.

President Uhuru Kenyatta made a surprise visit to a Chinese construction site where he found the construction work had stalled and started to enquire why.

He also enquired on how they had been allocated funds and listened as the CS and the Chinese contractor each gave a different figure, much to the Presidents dismay.

The CS tried to interject the President to save face for the Chinese but a seemingly infuriated Uhuru could hear none of it.

In defense, the officials from the Chinese company indicated that there was shortage of funding alleging that the project would be fast tracked had they received enough monies.
