For the first time since inception, the popular Kenyan comedy show “Churchill” will soon be recorded live in a US city.  The troupe is set to perform in Atlanta, Georgia in mid April next year.

Speaking to this Kenya Satellite News Network in Nairobi Friday, Daniel Ndambuki, the proprietor of “ Laugh Industry inc” confirmed that he and a team of about ten comedians will hit the road early April and will perform in at least five US cities before flying back to Kenya.

“In the past, I have received very many requests to go and perform abroad but I have always declined. Now is the time..God’s time is the best…Atlanta here I come,” he told this reporter.

The comedians who will tour the US include Teacher Wanjiku, Prof Hamo, MCA Tricky, Captain Otoyo, Jasper Vaite Murume and MC Jesse.

The Majuu Churchill Show is being sponsored by Atlanta Majuu Cultural Festival under the auspices of the Kenyan American Community Church (KACC) in Marietta Georgia, about 10 miles North of Atlanta.

Atlanta Majuu Cultural Festival is an annual exhibition of a myriad of Kenyan-African cultures. Kenyan American Community Church (KACC) has in the past added to the cultural tapestry that shapes American Society which is increasingly becoming multicultural.

This year, the organisers are also inviting Kenyans to visit the US and go on a 10 day cruise, among other activities.

The event coordinator, Cate Kariuki says it will be an opportunity of a lifetime for those Kenyans interested in making the trip.

“We are making arrangements for the visas from the US embassy in Nairobi to enable those who have shown interest travel to the US.” she said.

KACC has been leading the Kenya Diaspora in the US in celebrating their cultural heritage with great pride and enthusiasm.

For the last twelve years, the church has with great passion nurtured and celebrated cultural diversity that is exhibited in the rich Kenya-African culture.

Daniel Ndambuki’s lat performance in the US was in mid 2000s when he accompanied the Reddykyulas trio during one of their tours.

“We are very excited about the upcoming tour,” said MCA Tricky who was flanked by Teacher Wanjiku and Otoyo at the Serena Hotel during the Majuu trip launch last Sunday.

Kenyan man deported from the US on arrival at the airport, seeks help to reunite with his Patients

Published

An online petition to help a Doctor of Kenyan descent who was deported from the United States two weeks ago has been launched.

According to the petition seen by ksnmedia.com,  Dr. Alexander Ondari  was returning to the US to complete his last year as a resident physician at the University of Texas Medical Branch on July 6th, when he was denied entry.

He is now seeking the intervention of the US Embassy in Nairobi. Below is the Petition as prepared by one Georgia Colleluori:

On July the 6th, Dr. Alexander Ondari was returning to USA to complete his last year as a resident physician at University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. However, he was barred from entering, as the immigration officer at the airport (Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport) did not honor the valid J1 Visa that he had. Unfortunately, he was deported back to Kenya where he is right now. Currently, all depends on the USA Embassy in Kenya to grant him a new J1 Visa.

Dr Ondari’s constant efforts as a physician, together with his charitable character, is critical to the well-being of the communities he lives and serves in. Dr Ondari’s objective is to bring value to the US, an aim that has been already accomplished during the last 17 years as a non-immigrant visa holder. It’s is thus a honor to support his efforts to obtain a J1 visa so that he can serve his patients and continue to improve the health of America.
