Kenyan media personality Betty Kyallo has come out to dispel rumours that she has been having a very difficult time accepting the fact that her ex husband, Dennis Okari has moved on.

During the latest episode of Up-Close with Betty which aired on Friday, the K24 news presenter said she wishes Okari well with his new bride.

Ati nasikia watu wakisema nilikuwa nalilia kwa choo. Hakuna kitu kama hicho (I am told people were saying that I was weeping in the toilet. There is nothing like that.)”

The 30 year old anchor was speaking to Felix Owour alias Jalas who stood in for her in the popular show that she herself hosts.

Okari, an Investigative journalist cum news anchor with NTV, recently wedded Naomi Joy in an invite-only ceremony.

This after the he and Betty divorced following a lavish and much publicized wedding in 2015.  The two had a daughter together.

Following the latest wedding however, a lot of flak has been thrown in Betty’s way. While some people are happy for the newlyweds, tweeps have been trolling the Daystar University trained journalist with some even saying that she was “dumped by Okari because she is a celebrity and a Community wife’ (whatever that means.)

Earlier in the Friday interview, her mother revealed that she (Betty) once went against her wish and something that her mother did not approve of. “Things did not work out and I said to her…I told you,” she said.

She however showed her protective side when she said that sometimes she contacts people who cyber-bully her daughter. “As a mother, I have to wonder why they are making negative comments about her. Sometimes I try to interact with them and when they see me online, they say..oh, mom kumbe you are there, I am sorry.”

Asked whether she is seeing someone, Betty neither laughed the question off, only saying that she is happy. This prompted Jalas to suggest that there could be another wedding in the horizon.

This was the first time Betty is interviewed in her own show, Up-Close with Betty. In the interview, she also revisits the issue of dating public figures.

Victor Ber breaks silence on accusations of frustrating Churchill Show artistes

BY KEVIN KOECH

Churchill Show Director Victor Ber has responded to claims of frustrating Churchill Show comedians.

Comedian Zainabu Zeddy accused Ber of frustrating comedians, leading them to depression.

Speaking to Nation, Ber dismissed the claims, stating that despite the damning allegations made by Zeddy, they would still remain friends, adding that he was ready to invite her to Churchill show.

“Yes, without a doubt (I will welcome her). Since she wrote those things, I tried to keep it to myself, but she kept posting more and more and it wasn’t until Wednesday (July 8) that I picked up my phone and texted her and she called me back. I know her very well and when you watch the videos, she cannot edit the way they were,” Ber said.

The director read malice in Zeddy’s allegations, stating that someone keen on bringing down Churchill show was pushing Zeddy to heap blame on him and create a fallout within the team behind the award-winning show.

According to Zeddy, so serious is the situation that a number of comedians have sunk into depression before their eventual deaths.

Njenga Mswahili and Kasee are among the Churchill Show comedians whose recent deaths have raised eyebrows.

Zeddy revealed that sabotage is part of the game and so serious is the situation that Njenga Mswahili sunk into depression and was admitted an Mathari Mental Hospital.

“Ber never wanted any female comedians to succeed so that his wife could shine. That is the reason we have few female comedians.

“When Wanjiku put up her Comedy Queens show at KICC, the girls were threatened to perform,” posted Zeddy.

She added that Kasee who recently passed on was pushed to the limits and became homeless before her death.
