Kambua’s touching message to women struggling with childlessness

Published

on

Gospel singer Kambua has on July 18 sent a heartfelt message to women, who like her, tried for long to have a baby.

The Bado Nasimama singer who describes her pregnancy as ‘a miracle’ explained that the journey is not simple and in her own words, is “messy, hope-filled, scary, joyful, and just very complicated.”

“I’ve been around long enough and been through enough to know that pregnancy journeys are not perfect- far from it. They are messy, hope-filled, scary, joyful, and just very… complicated.

“I also know that for waiting wombs, pregnancy announcements can be serious triggers. I have lived it- how you just want to be so happy for others but somehow your own grief and struggle overwhelms you.

“But my years of waiting allowed God to deal with my heart. He taught me that He was enough for me and that I was complete in Him. I didn’t know how or when God would turn the tide for me, I did, however, know, that even when it hurt beyond words, my trust would always be in Him,” she wrote.

Kambua, however, acknowledged the fact that as much as many would want to be happy for her, they might be weighed down by their personal journeys.

“For any woman whose pain was triggered by my announcement, I have prayed that God will turn your darkness into a spark of hope. I pray that your faith is renewed in knowing that His power knows no bounds. I pray that you find yourself whole in Him.

“Motherhood does not complete us; God does. Motherhood is a great calling, but it’s not the only calling,” she shared.

During an interview at a local TV station, the former Rauka show host explained how she was constantly asked when she will get a child considering she has been married for close to seven years.

“Today I saw a comment and deleted it because this guy commented on my Instagram and he says ‘When are you going to get pregnant, you’re getting old. I remember thinking, the reason why it angers me is that people don’t even know what your journey is like. They don’t know what you’re struggling with.

“They don’t know if you even what to have children. They don’t know if you can have children and there are so many people especially today who are struggling with infertility. It so unfortunate that we become such a culture of being so intrusive and putting people down,” said Kambua.

Saumu Sonko appears to be taking a stand with her father, Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko, who was arrested on Friday afternoon following an order by the Director of Public Prosecutions Noordin Haji.

Saumu shared a picture on her Instagram of a moment she was taking a selfie her father while embracing adorably and also made it her profile photo.

Governor Sonko was arrested in Voi town by detectives from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) who claimed the county boss was on the run when he was intercepted at a roadblock.

Sonko is expected to face charges at the anti-corruption court over the loss of Sh357 million in the county.

The City Hall boss and the other county officials will face charges of conspiracy to commit economic crime, willful failure to comply with the law and conflict of interest.

Haji said a probe by the anti-graft agency EACC had collected sufficient evidence to sustain the corruption charges.
