Uhuru’s media team goofs on census holiday

Published

on

President Uhuru Kenyatta’s media team  was left with egg on the face on Friday night after misquoting him on whether Kenyans will have a holiday during the census period.

It took the Kenze Dena-headed Presidential Strategic Communication Unit ( PSCU) a whole two hours to realise that the head of state had not announced that Monday, August 26 would be a public holiday.

It all started at 8pm when the unit dispatched a media communication announcing that Mr Kenyatta had designated the day as a public holiday.

“Government designates Monday august 26 as a public holiday to facilitate national census,” read the communication in part. It even had a “quote” supposedly from President Kenyatta’s speech earlier in the day at the Kenyatta National Convention Centre (KICC) , Nairobi when he launched the countdown to the 2019 Kenya Population and Housing Census earlier in the day.

“To ensure maximum enumeration during the first two days ( August 24 and 25)  of the Census period, I have authorized Monday, 26th August 2019 to be a Public Holiday,” the President is said to have announced.

At 10pm, though, PSCU sent a correction saying the head of state did not announce August 26, 2019 as public holiday.

“Contrary to our earlier dispatch on the 2019 Kenya Population and Housing Census, we wish to clarify that His Excellency the President did not announce that August 26 will be a public holiday,” reads statement.

“We regret the error and wish to say that as much as the Kenya 2019 Population and Housing Census is important to the country, August 26 which will be on a Monday will not be a public holiday. Our apologies for inconveniences caused by the erroneous communication.”

Terence and Milly recently embarked on a weight loss journey and during the interview, she said that they’ve learnt to survive trolls.

You need a thick skin and God’s grace,’ the mother of one said.

The couple narrated how they are often trolled because of their weight.

..I’m here keeping up with the hippos,’ Milly said.

She revealed that she battled with postpartum depression hence the reason why she gained weight.

A postpartum (or postnatal) period begins immediately after the birth of a child as the mother’s body, including hormone levels and uterus size, returns to a non-pregnant state.

The famous couple has been body-shamed online and is no longer bothered. Speaking about worst trolls, the father of three said the meanest words he has heard are;

kitanda inawatoshanga (do you fit in your bed?), how do they nini (have se3). People think we have a metallic bed.

‘Young boys shamelessly hit on me in front of my kids’ – Sarah Kabu

Published

Bonfire adventures boss Sarah Kabu said she feels sorry for the ‘Xaxa’ generation who have turned their attention to trying to win over older women.

Older women dating small boys are known as cougars.

According to Sarah, these boys know where to source such women thus hanging around areas most frequented by the same.

Speaking during an interview on Radio Jambo, the mother of two said she has been a victim.

‘ When I drive around in my range rover there are some young men who know the right points to get rich women so they hang around there.

It’s so funny sometimes these young men try to make moves and sometimes you are with your kids.

Sarah said that these boys do this despite the presence of my kids.

My kids are very intelligent so they understand. It’s very worrying, especially with the young generation.’

Sarah recently talked about how women have been trying to approach her husband via DM after he gifted her a car.

‘AFTER THAT WE DID NOT KNOW THAT WOULD BE A PROBLEM.

NOW EVERY SLAY QUEEN TELLS HIM ‘OOH I WANT A VITZ.’

I HEARD PEOPLE WERE ASKING KWANI NAMPEA DESIGN GANI NDIO ANINUNULIE GARI.’

‘HAPPY NEW YEAR,  MY GOAL IS TO GO OUT WITH YOU, PLEASE MAKE IT HAPPEN.

Sarah says,

WE MEET SUCH DM’S EVERYDAY.’

Babu Owino moved to Gigiri

Published

By JUDITH GICOBI

Babu Owino, Embakasi East MP, has been moved to Gigiri Police Station. He is supposed to stay there for the rest of the weekend.

Police officers noticed an increased movement of young people near the police station, which was interfering with the smooth running of work there.

“According to intelligence reports, the MP’s supporters were planning to protests outside the station and we had to move him. This is one of the busy police stations in Nairobi and any protest would paralyze our work,” said our source who sought anonymity.

The Mp was taken to Kilimani police station Friday morning after a shooting incident he was involved in at Kilimani B club.

Babu shot DJ Evolve on the neck, causing him to be admitted at Nairobi Hospital in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

George Kinoti, the DCI boss, says the MP is likely to be facing attempted murder charges. They have also recovered the gun used at the incident.

“We will charge him with attempted murder. It is apparent that he wanted to kill the man,” remarked DCI Director George Kinoti as quoted by Nation.
