Drama as Nigerian man tries to take body of Kenyan woman from funeral home

There was drama at a Nairobi Funeral Home after a Nigerian man tried to take the body of his wife, without her family’s consent. The bizarre spectacle happened at Umash Funeral Home on Mbagthi Road.

35-year-old Andear Mwangi succumbed to a liver condition  on the September 22 this year at Nairobi South Hospital.

The man at the center of the fight is Charles Emedo, a man with whom, according to sources, had lived with Andear for 9 years and they had three children from the union.

Emedo attempted to get the Andear’s body without her family’s consent but was stopped.

The dispute over the burial rites and the deceased’s children has seen the two parties go to court.

“There is nobody that is buried by somebody unknown when the parents and relatives are not aware,” Lydia Mwathathi, the deceased’s mother said.

“They have stayed together for some time but they are neither married officially or customary,” said the mother of the deceased.

Andear’s family claims that the grandfather and the uncle to the deceased are working with Emedo to forcefully take the body from them.

On October 23, the deceased family presented the matter in court but Charles Emedo did not appear claiming that his lawyers advised him against it.

“Ivanna prefers her dad to me,” Betty Kyallo speaks co-parenting

Betty Kyallo´s YouTube channel has only been giving us more insight into the media personality´s personal and family life.

This time, she was open to discuss her celebrity crush and how co-parenting with Dennis Okari has been fairing.

The bubbly TV girl spent the day running errands with her youngest sister, Gloria Kyallo and her close friend, Karen.

Betty was taking us on a tour to the carpet center that is handling her beauty parlor´s renovation furniture sets, as she preps to relocate to a much bigger space.

On their way to the place, Betty revealed just how much of a daddy´s girl Ivanna is, always opting to go out with Dennis Okari than with her.

Imagine Ivanna has actually refused to leave the house. She only does it with her dad. Mimi, okay she did once but I don´t know why she refuses to go with me. I even told her today morning, ´mummy, let´s go for a drive´… but imagine she refused.

Betty Kyallo´s daughter, Ivanna

Betty´s co-parenting with celebrated NTV journalist, is proving to be pretty smooth and not much of a big deal after she revealed that today morning, Ivanna was set for a date with her dad, Okari.

My baby is becoming a sweet little girl 🎈🎈 She chooses what to wear. She likes dresses and track suits just like me❤️ . She chose what to wear today because she had a date with her dad.

Unfortunately, Ivanna is already all grown now and is no longer in the business of warm cuddles or sweet kisses from her mother and this makes Betty sad.

She doesn’t like cuddles anymore. I have to beg for kisses, she gives hugs easily and she doesn’t like oats anymore😆. I’m happy God Gave me a second chance with her.

Celebrity crush

Away from that, Betty was previously spotted snuggling with an alleged Somali guy months after her breakup with Okari.

But for a while now, we are no longer seeing the arms, legs or even curled up hair of this guy taking over Betty´s heart.

During their trip around Nairobi, the three girls were caught on camera drooling over random hunk guys on the streets.

Betty bluntly jerked:

That´s a handsome guy. Wah! have you seen him? Heh! he´s handsome my gosh! Kama kitu ni nzuri, sema. He has a kid, wrapped on his chest as he pulls the stroller and if he has a kid, he´s good. That´s a sure pass.

On a different occasion, Betty gushed over a passerby hinting that the guy would be  good match for her younger sister.

Eh! Cheki ule chali, Gloria, he´s your type.

With Gloria sweetly admitting:

Eeh…he´s short.

Gloria Kyallo

Betty revealed Gloria loves the short chubby type. In other words, the abujubuju type. Nice one!

It then came a time when everyone had their chance to name their celebrity crush, whether locally or global. A shy Betty confessed her liking has always been for renowned ragga and dancehall artist, Redsan since way back.

Quite jittery and shy about her crush, the single mom fumbled a bit before admitting:

Aki please, if you have a wife or girlfriend, please don´t come for me. I´ve always had a crush on Redsan but please don´t make him watch me say this, please. There´s a way he just seats, that muscular, serious and swaggish pose and he´s like ´what´s up B?´ That guy looking hot! Even though my dreams didn´t come true, that guy is my guy. Redsan unakuanga umeweza.

Further brushing off:

Probably he is seeing someone and plus it´s not like crushes end up being your better half anyway. Crushes don´t come to be.

For Gloria, turns out, she´s head over heals for Stivo Simple Boy. Not for anything else, but for his music, with the random lyrics that come with that sharp, wild, girly tone.

For Karen, NTV journalist Mark Masai floored them all, especially because of his voice.

Regards who is currently in her life, Betty stated:

You´ll be seeing him soon.

Eliud Kipchoge pushed for countrywide athletes’ stimulus

Eliud Kipchoge has appealed to more well-wishers to contribute towards the Covid-19 food stimulus programme for athletes, saying he’s eager to see the programme roll out to the rest of Kenya.

So far, the focus of the relief food has been in the Rift Valley region where the Olympic champion has himself distributed food to athletes in Kericho, Nandi, Uasin Gishu and Elgeyo-Marakwet counties through the Ministry of Sport, his Eliud Kipchoge Foundation and other well-wishers.

On Wednesday, Kipchoge was in Elgeyo-Marakwet County again to assist athletes in his training base of Kaptagat after well-wishers Zaharia Hassanali and family in collaboration with Eliud Kipchoge Foundation gifted 24 athletes with food aid.

Kipchoge said many athletes have been suffering and need support because they can’t train on empty stomachs, forcing him to reach out to various corporates to help reach the vulnerable.

With more support from well-wishers, Kipchoge said he will go across the country to help athletes, footballers, volleyball players and any other sportspersons in dire need of support.

“I have been doing this for four weeks now, and I’m trying to reach those athletes who are vulnerable,” the world marathon record holder said.

“Today, I managed to meet 24 athletes who benefited from the exercise. I know how tough it is to train in an empty stomach and I will always support the upcoming in this exercise including those who are in other events.

“In these hard times, I know what the athletes are going through, and I would urge for more support so that together we can beat this pandemic which has affected the athletes’ lives.”

With elite runners depending on races across the globe, cessation of sports events due to fears over the spread of the coronavirus has forced the athletes into a tight financial corner.

Kipchoge also thanked Sara Janmohamed, who made 100 masks for the Olympic champion’s foundation, urging more youths to be innovative.

“I was touched by Janmohamed, who is still in secondary school, who was able to make 100 masks which I have also distributed to athletes. I would like to urge the youths to be more proactive in the fight against the Covid-19,” he said.

He urged athletes to continue training hard hoping that the next season would be better if the virus is contained.

“For now, apart from the food distribution, safety is more paramount but when competition resumes we shall come out stronger as athletes as we look forward to a better season,” said Kipchoge.

Kipchoge is preparing for the much awaited duel with Ethiopian legend Kenenisa Bekele at the rescheduled London Marathon on October 4.

“Right now, safety is my priority and I will soon be starting my training and when that time comes, I will be able to tell you my training programme,” added Kipchoge.

Ismail Cheboror, one of the athletes who benefited yesterday, said he was touched by the support from the athletics legend and he is looking forward to be like him in future.

“I’m happy for the support I have received which will keep me going in my training. “Kipchoge is God-sent and I want to be like him in future because he always inspires me,” said Cheboror.

Sarah Jelagat, who is a road racer, couldn’t hide her joy after receiving her food ration, saying she has been struggling to put food on the table.

“I was preparing for a road race in the United States of America in March, but it was cancelled due to the virus and since then I have just been training to keep fit,” said Jelagat.
