Published

on

Sacked media personality, Moses Kanyira has penned an open letter to Kenya’s president asking him why he lost his job at Kameme FM.

Moses outlines all the things he has done to ensure Uhuru’s political campaigns were successful only to get fired by his media house.

Read the letter below.

Open letter to president Uhuru Kenyatta.
I take this opportunity to thank you for everything.

During my time in Kameme FM I was directly involved in driving some of your agendas that affect our people and also drumming support like any other Kenyan who enjoys the freedom of choice democratically and constitutionally.

On the year 2015, I single-handedly started to fight against second-generation liquor which was sweeping generation.

After the campaign against the same gained momentum, you joined the fight with full force and declared the tough fight which shakedown the whole country.
As a result, the soberness, especially in our youth, was realised.

During the fight of business of death, I was appointed by media colleagues to be chairman of the media fighting against the menace.

During that period I was joined by my colleges including the current Kiambu women rep Gathoni wa Muchomba, who was working at Kameme FM by then, Maina Kangethia KBC editor in chief, Billy Muiruri who is now working in Kajiado county government but by then he was working with Nation newspaper, and many more who worked wholeheartedly to achieve your directives.

Mr President, as a result, I have passed through a lot of pain in courts concerning the fight to achieve directives, and up to now, one case is still proceeding.

In the last two elections, I was directly involved in your campaign and in fact am the one who came up with a slogan “Kumira kumira” which initially was directed to mass voter registration and also to urge Kenyans to vote in large numbers as they are mandated constitutionally.

However, I was finally subjected to ridicule by an influential people who maliciously claimed that I am writing negative stories towards B.B.I, and a day later I was sacked.
My president the claim was false and fabricated and only aimed to destroy my reputation and my career.
My dear president, was it your directives as that person claimed?
I wish you all the best and pledge my loyalty to you.
Moses Kanyira sacked Kameme FM journalist.

Ben Githae: I have no apologies for ‘Tano Tena’ song

Published

on

Kikuyu gospel artiste Ben Githae says he will not apologise to Kenyans for his song Tano Tena that urged Kenyans to give President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto another term during the 2017 heated election campaigns.

The song that served as the Jubilee campaigns anthem is currently trending on social media offering a ‘painful’ reminder of the ‘bad’ choice that voters made to elect into power, a government that has led the country into an economic slump.

While studies have shown that majority of Kenyans are surviving on a single meal per day, citizens have taken to social media to vent about having to cut down their expenses by walking to work and reducing their leisure activities to be able to survive.

They have accused the government of doing little to change the situation. Jubilee administration has also gone on a borrowing spree with the total public debt now standing at Sh5.902 trillion.

Some Kenyans have called on the artiste to produce another song that apologises to Kenyans for “misleading” them.

MISLEADING US

“Mpendwa, aka Baba Daisy should release a seven minutes apology hit song so that we can forgive him for misleading us .I personally apologized for voting three times in favor of the poor (in terms of leadership) duo,” wrote Moses Ngigi.

The artiste, however, feels those who voted for Jubilee government based on the contents of the song only have themselves to blame.

He said his influence could not have driven such a huge mass towards making a decision such as who to elect in office and called on those claiming that it influenced their voting patterns to instead clap for him for supporting a winning candidate.

“I saw an opportunity and seized it. I have no apologies to make,” said Mr Githae.

He said the song that was part of his Roho wa Ngai urotoma roho wa wuirualbum (May the spirit of God win over that of jealousy) hit more because of the timing of its release.

Despite the flak received for the song, Mr Githae says he made a tidy sum from the opportunities it brought forth. Also, contrary to people’s beliefs, he says he was not contracted by the Jubilee party to do the song.

The artiste said he made a decision to include a political song in the album as an expression of his support for the president.

PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGNS

“I said to myself that I do not have money to support the presidential campaigns but I have a gift I can use. So why not do a song, record a simple video for it and share it amongst the people to test its reception?” he said.

The song went viral and became a darling amongst Jubilee party supporters. The trending clip was shot at Ndumberi in Kiambu, his home county.

“The president was voted for by over 8 million Kenyans, the ones claiming my song guided their choice of candidates are lying. How can such a huge mass be influenced by a person of my stature,” said Mr Githae.

He called on the president to work to improve the lives of Kenyans. “Those that may be failing him should be pointed out and ejected from his administration,” said the artist.

Mr Githae said he is not sure if he shall releasing another political song in 2022. “I did Tano Tena in support of Uhuru and he shall not be seeking another term. That decision shall be guided by the dynamics of the time,” he said.

The meme of a woman yelling and crying angrily and the savage responses from a white cat has since taken over the internet.

The meme came to life in May this year after a Twitter user posted it after combining the two pictures, which had previously been used as memes separately.

78K people are talking about this

The woman in the meme, is Reality TV star Taylor Armstrong, who was captured on the reality TV show The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 2, (Malibu beach from hell) which aired in December 2011.

Taylor is captured having a meltdown with Camille Grammer, as then fellow housewife Kyle Richards attempted to calm her down.

ESTRANGED HUSBAND

The incident happened after her friends claimed that she had lied about having an estranged husband, Russell Armstrong.

Her husband had just committed suicide and Taylor went into a nervous breakdown. Her hospital records, which had been kept private for some time, have proved otherwise after it was discovered she had had a reconstructive eye surgery to correct an injury that she sustained from abuse by Russell.

Responding to the meme circulation, Taylor said on Twitter: “Thank you, that is my past and I have moved on and am in a really healthy happy marriage. It doesn’t seem like my life any longer. I work with domestic violence shelters and support victims. Its (sic) ok to laugh at the images that have been created…”

She later told oprahmag.com: “During the screaming scene, I was truly terrified for my life and my safety. When I look back now, that life seems like someone else’s. I have healed and grown so much stronger since that moment and am in such a happy place with my husband and daughter. I never imagined of all my TV moments, that would be the one to become a ‘meme’ sensation.”

Meanwhile, the cat in the picture is called Smudge who lives in Ottawa with his owner Miranda Stillabower. Smudge has earned a following of 640k on Instagram. lord

He won many hearts through Tumblr in 2018 after Miranda posted him looking unimpressed after a plate of vegetables was placed in front of him.

Since then, the meme has been turned into many things, paintings, cosplay and a Japanese Facebook page even turned it into a video.

Published

Kenyan media personality Janet Mbugua is over the moon after US wrestler John Cena followed her on Twitter.

The mother of two could not hide her excitement and shared a screenshot on her page, accompanying the post with the words of singer Sho Madjozi.

Haibo! John Cena has followed me! (Inserts Sho Madjozi energy): Chi chi chi chi…chi, chi, chi Happy new week, folks!” wrote Janet Mbugua.

Focusing on Africa

This comes a few days after Cena surprised Sho Madjozi while performing on a live TV show.

Cena surprised Madjozi in California as she performed her hit single “John Cena” on ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show’. According to Sho, she wrote the song after a boy she liked failed to direct any attention her way.

John Cena has been reportedly paying attention to the African continent ever since the South African songbird dropped the ‘John Cena’ hit which she sang in fluent Swahili.

Marriage on the rocks?

Janet Mbugua, on the other hand recently commented on rumours that her marriage is on the verge of collapse. The 35-year old stated that “It has been a few years…” and admitted that the institution of marriage is a challenging one.

“I always tell those who keep on saying: ‘Oh my God, I can’t wait to start a family…’ I say two things: ‘Take your time, and make sure that you are ready; because you could be good at being in love, but you do not really need to be married.”

She advised Kenyans to take their time before settling down.

“Trying to balance family, work and expectations is really hard…I love my family, I love where I am. And, I know, the moment you say it is not easy, I can predict what the blog posts would say… But, it is fine, they would talk about it” she said.
