The sick Kenyan student who had returned from china with Coronavirus-like symptoms has tested negative for the deadly virus.
He was quarantined at Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) after flying back from China.
Sicily Kariuki, outgoing Health Cabinet Secretary, announced on Friday. She said the tests were carried out in South Africa.
“I can confirm that results on the suspected coronavirus case sent to South Africa for validation are negative,” Ms Kariuki said on social media.
She also urged anyone who has travelled to China in the last few days and has symptoms of respiratory illnesses such as fever, coughing, difficulty breathing and sneezing, to go and get checked at a health facility for assessment.
The student in his early 20s travelled via Kenya Airways flight KQ886.
