Esther Passaris to dedicate Sh200k from her salary every month to help youth with business ideas

Published

on

Nairobi Women Representative Esther Passaris on Thursday 16 January offered to help youth with business ideas in a bid to solve the issue of unemployment.

Through her Twitter handle, Passaris vowed to dedicate Sh200,000 every month out of her salary to help the youth.

This came after one Twitter user, Brian Mboya, asked the Nairobi Women Rep to offer him any job even it meant sweeping floors.

Passaris responded to the Mboya telling him she does not have any job openings at the moment, and she would rather he gets self-employed.

“I do not have any jobs at the moment. What I have is grants to help you get off to being self-employed. I will dedicate 200k every month out of my monthly salary and the best business advisors and mentors. All you have to do is ‘pitch’ your idea on this platform,” said Passaris.

Most netizens appreciated the Women Rep’s effort to help youth get employed and even wrote some of their business ideas on the comment section.

I will always choose my wife over gospel music – Bahati

Published

BY KEVIN KOECH

Gospel-cum-secular singer Kevin Kioko, alias Bahati has said that he will always choose his wife Diana Marua, over Gospel music.

Speaking while responding to a questions asked by Radio Maisha presenters Billy Miya and Mbaruk Mwalimu, the singer said that Gospel music is not Jesus.

He went on to state that he knows Jesus with his heart, and he will always choose his wife, because she has blessed him with beautiful children and takes good care of him.

“Ukiambiwa uchague between gospel music ama Diana,” asked Miya.

“Ah Bibi yangu tu. Huyo ni mke wangu, naenda na mke wangu. Unajua Gospel music sio Yesu ndugu yangu. Yesu namtambua ako kwa moyo wangu lakini hapa duniani Diana kila siku…Wewe angalia unaona watoto warembo, ndio huyo nimeanza kuongeza weight what else?” said Bahati.

Bahati also disclosed that one habit she doesn’t like about his wife is the fact that she easily gets annoyed.

“Yaani anakasirika haraka sana,” added Bahati.

This comes a few days after Bahati said he had separated himself from the Gospel Industry and is now focused on doing love songs.

“The gospel ni Christ and I have Christ in my heart and believe in God and God is the reason I’m at the top, I cannot leave Christ, that’s the most important, it’s not the gospel industry. The Gospel Industry I rotten…but that’s story for another day.

“I prayed before I wrote Wanani, Missing You,nili-consult God sana. I was fought a lot in the gospel industry and I knew I was not doing the gospel for the people. So when I’m doing a gospel song I will do it for God not for the industry.

“I just separated myself from the gospel industry for a while but I’m in Christ and the lord is my personal saviour,” said Bahati.

Ex-MPs to get Sh100,000 monthly pension

Published

BY KEVIN KOECH

Former Members of Parliament will be getting at least Ksh100,000 per month.

This is after legislators pass an amendment to the Parliamentary Pensions Acts.

MPs who retired between 1984 and 2001 are set to receive a monthly pension of Ksh100,000 for life under revised changes to the National Assembly’s retirement benefits law.

The monthly pension for former MPs increased from the current low of Ksh33,000 to as much as Ksh125,000.

The Parliamentary Budget Office (PBO) projected that the government will be paying about Sh15.1 million per month.

With the recommendation to backdate the payments to July 2010, PBO said it would cost about Sh1.76 billion in the first year of implementing the Bill.

“The annual pension payment would amount to approximately Sh180.9 million assuming there are currently about 160 ex-MPs and about 130 widows/widowers,” PBO said.

Under the law, their dependants will be entitled to about half of the set monthly pay for the spouse’s lifetime.

A second category of 80 MPs, who have been excluded from pension yet served for two terms before 2002, will get the handsome payout.

The payments will bring ex-MPs at par with their colleagues who served after 2002 and are entitled to at least Sh125,000 monthly upon serving two terms.

The remaining 80 will get a single payment of Sh11.9 million to date and the Sh100,000 monthly for life.

On Tuesday, National Assembly Minority leader John Mbadi, who sponsored the proposal, defended the Bill as hinged on a noble intention.

He told the Star it is to take care of former MPs currently “earning nothing but are entitled to pension perks”.

The ODM chair said some of the former lawmakers are paid as low as Sh2,000 which can barely cater to their needs, more so healthcare.

“It is to cater to ageing Kenyans who served Parliament and need money for medication. We have seen so many of them dying and we cannot turn a blind eye to their plight,” the Suba South MP said.

Willy Paul mocked over 24 inch TV

BY KEVIN KOECH

On Wednesday, singer Willy Paul shared a video jamming to his new song “Kamati ya Roho Chafu” featuring Sauto Sol’s Bien.

However, the short video prompted one of his followers to throw shade at him over his 24-inch TV that was visible in the background.

“The king has decided to entertain you!! Weka manzi yako mbali.. look at the waist Ina de bedroom!! #kamatiyarohochafuwaistchallenge ft @bienaimesol” reads the caption of Willy’s video.

The user took to the comment section insinuating that the artiste is always flexing on the gram yet he can’t even afford a bigger TV set.

“24 inch wah. Hawa macelebs kumbe ni shobo tu,” wrote Instagram user carole.keysha.

The comment managed to earn a reply from Willy who mentioned that the TV set in question is in the Bedroom.

“@carole.keysha Shobo umesema? Asante kamami. Jameni hapa bedroom hahahaha” reacted Willy Paul.

However, Willy Paul’s fans were quick to respond defending the star, with a section advising that he doesn’t have to explain himself.

In a quick rejoinder, the user also defended herself saying, she is Willy’s biggest fan;

“Are you willy paul?? Nonsense.. Is he complaining or who died and made you his spokesperson. Fuck you! Am his number one fun wacha ush*ga wewe pumbavu hii.”
