Shock as Imam discovers his new wife is a man!

Published

on

An Imam  exchanged vows  and signed a marriage contract with his ‘bride’ in a nikah ceremony a couple of weeks ago and the two allegedly never got intimate before the wedding and did not consummate the marriage because the bride said she was menstruating.

In Islam, the marriage between a bride and groom is a legal contract, known as nikah.

“I was patient and waited for her to get better,” the Imam said.

But last week, Mr Mohammed Mutumba got the shock of his life after neighbours said his ‘wife’ was a man.

Neighbours claimed the ‘wife’ jumped over a wall and stole their television set and clothes.

The neighbours reported the case at a local police station and detectives were dispatched to arrest the suspect.

The suspect arrived at the police station wearing Islamic clothing for women and sandals.

A female police officer had to search her before she was thrown into the cell.

“As is normal practice, a female police officer searched the suspect thoroughly before taking ‘her’ to the cells.

“But to the shock of the officer, the suspect had stacked clothes in the bra to hoodwink that they were breasts,” Kayunga District Criminal Investigations Officer Isaac Mugera said.

On further search the police discovered that the suspect had male genitals and quickly informed ‘her’ husband who had escorted her to the police station.

Mr Mugera said the suspect was interrogated and he confessed that he duped Mr Mutumba that he is a woman in a bid to get his money.

The CID boss said the suspect will be charged with impersonation, theft and obtaining goods by false pretence.

Narrating how he fell in love with the suspect, Mr Mutumba, an Imam at Kyampisi Mosque, said the two met at the mosque where he had gone for prayers.

“I was looking for a woman to marry and when I landed on a beautiful girl wearing a hijab, I asked her for love and she accepted.

“She told me we could not have sex until I take dowry to her parents and also exchange marriage vows with her,” a visibly shocked Mutumba said.

He explained that within, a week he finalised everything and visited the suspect’s alleged aunt and paid dowry.

The Imam paid dowry, which included two goats, two bags of sugar, three busuutis (traditional Ugandan attire), a carton of salt and a Koran.

The suspect’s aunt told police that she did not know that her ‘niece’ was male as she got to know him when he was already an adult.

“The first day he visited, he was wearing a hijab. I even slept with him in my bedroom.

“When she told me that she is going to get married, I gave her a go ahead and asked her to bring him to my home,” she said.

Sarah Kabu says that she almost walked out on her husband after she and he failed to agree on an important decision in their marriage.

The mother of two at the time wanted to move houses, she wanted her ‘dream house’ ASAP but her husband was hearing none of it.

And she decided to scout for a new house ALONE.

‘I almost moved out because I was tired of the house we lived in.

I wanted to move to our dream house but my husband was not up for it at the time.’

Sarah Kabu and her husband Simon Kabu

‘So I went and shopped for homes in Runda, Kitsuru and signed contracts to move.
I had decided to move out anipate mbele.’

Simon who was at the time the sober headed one decided to talk his wife out of that ‘ stupid’ decision something she is forever grateful for.

‘Finally, I was talked to and my husband asked me to get the best interior designer I could get to help me redo our house to my taste.’

Adding,

‘I had signed out all agreements but I was ready to move out with my son eventually I never moved out.
We were living on Kiambu road at the time.’

Sarah says that even when people see them slaying in social media they have marital issues like every other couple.

VIDEO: Mayooo! Mayooo! Kenyan woman from US gets schooled on Luo mourning ritual

Published

on

A young Kenyan woman with an American twang has revealed how she was coached by an uncle on how to ‘weep and wail’ at her grandfather’s burial.

In a hilarious video, which has been widely shared on social media, the young woman leaves mourners in stitches with her testimony as she eulogized her late grandfather.

The woman, who introduces herself as Lillian, narrates how the uncle instructed her to put up a dramatized show to mourn her grandpa during the burial ceremony.

“My uncle Japheth told me, that whenever I reach the homestead that I cannot just come out of the car and walk into the house. He said I have to cry on the way to the homestead,” she narrates.

WEEPING AND WAILING

Taken aback, she says, she asked the uncle how she was supposed to cry.

Then she goes ahead to dramatise what the uncle instructed her to do.

“He said do this, Wololololooo! Mayooo! Mayooo! Kwara, erei! (grandpa, where are you?) Abiro! (I’m on my way) Kwara, in kanye? (grandpa, where are you?),” she narrates before letting out a shrill cry, as the mourners burst into laughter.

Mourning the dead in such a manner is standard practice among the Luo during burial ceremonies.
