Several residents of Membley in Ruiru got stranded on Saturday morning after their houses were flooded.
The residents say the floods are due to the recent heavy rains.
Residents spend a bigger part of their morning getting water out of their houses.
“It is terrible and we cannot even leave our homes because the roads are inaccessible. Something should be done before matters worsen,” said Janet Kimani, a local.
Ibrahim Mutai another resident says flooded water got into his sitting room and bedroom and he had to move the valuable items to a safe corner in the house.
He is agitated on why the County government did not solve the flooding problem since last year.
“It was worse and we thought the government would do something but officials disappeared with the rains and we remained with our unsolved problems,” Mr Mutai lamented.
The meteorological department warned of heavy rains across the country.
