Betty Bayo regrets moving in with a man she ‘barely knew’

Published

on

Gospel musician Betty Bayo has expressed regret getting into a relationship with controversial pastor Victor Kanyari and siring children with him before walking down the aisle. In a social media post, the Gatho singer said that she made her first mistake on the first day they met and numerous other mistakes followed thereafter. In the post that elicited varied reactions from her followers, the mother of two said that despite being a Christian, she moved in with Kanyari three weeks after they met.

“In my past relationship, I made mistake from day one, followed by more than 1,000 more mistakes. Though I was still a Christian and still saved, I moved in with a man three weeks after we met with no wedding or anything legal ata affidavit hakuna,” she wrote, referring to the move as a ‘maize wedding’.

Attributing her actions to naivety, Betty said she barely knew Kanyari when they moved in together and soon after, she was pregnant with their first child. Not long after, she was pregnant again.

“Unlike the expectation of many, nilienda come we stay, sorry I mean come we fight. I moved in with a man who I barely knew his full m-pesa names. Everyday things were unfolding I didn’t keep the social distance- I got pregnant. Kidogo kidogo pregnant again, the rest is history.”

She further asserted that she’s no longer in love with him, adding that she suffered from depression and high blood pressure.

“Nani hapa alikula mchele ya harusi yangu? Did I do my wedding in Jupiter? One day I’ll give my story maybe it will help or entertain someone somewhere. For those saying am still in love, yes it’s true but in love with my future, not my past. If God was not a forgiving God I deserved to be in a Christian jail. If I didn’t die of depression, high blood pressure, then I assure you am living to 100 and something years,” she wrote.

Kanyari fallout

Betty and Kanyari’s relationship crumbled four years ago after he was exposed for performing dubious miracles using potassium permanganate. The ‘miracle’ involved washing his congregants’ feet with ‘blood’ which oozed from their feet when touched by Kanyari. It, however, turned out that the ‘blood’ was as a result of the reaction of potassium permanganate with water. Speaking afterwards, Kanyari maintained that despite parting ways, they still remained good friends.

Father’s Day message

During Father’s on 21 June, Betty praised Kanyari for accepting her decision to move on and being a great dad to their two children. While lauding him for making co-parenting easy, she offered to sing at his wedding for free.

“You may not be a good husband but you’re a good dad. Thanks for accepting my decision to move on, it’s has been 4yrs…Unlike many men you have never stalked me or made my life miserable just because we parted ways. You have made co-parenting so easy and fun… one thing I promised you I’ll never teach my kid to disrespect you. I make sure they pray for you every day. God to keep you safe. They better have 310 guy as a father than none. The greatest gift I can offer on this father’s day is to sing for free on your wedding day,” she wrote.

Finding love

Almost a year ago, Betty confirmed that she was dating saying: “The guy am dating is not comfortable with me posting and talking about him, so that is why I will not be posting or revealing too much about him. Hataki mapenzi ya magazeti.”

“I got kicked out from home,” Bien’s brother Melvin painfully admits facing great rejection and resentment from their father

Published

Sauti Sol’s Bien-Aime Baraza’s eldest brother, Melvin has come out to reveal how his father rejected him at a very tender age.

The eldest of the three boys of the Baraza family took to his social media page to tell his story as a child, growing up without the foundation of a father’s love who was present but with no love towards him.

Melvin Alusa Baraza

Sharing a sweet photo with one of his daughters lying on his back, Melvin attested that a father’s love is the foundation of his children. A love through which the young ones build on and are able to face storms the world throws at them.

The sad narrative

However, that was never the case of his childhood.

I grew up facing great rejection and resentment from my father. I was fearful, felt unworthy and for the better part of my childhood longed for his affirmation, painfully narrated Melvin.

Unfortunately, the more he kept seeking affirmation from his father, the more it got worse.

…it only got worse to the point of being kicked out of the home I knew at the tender age of 17,” he continued.

Looking back, it is not the tears or the pain he underwent that matters, but the lessons his childhood taught him that have seen him become a present and loving father to his 6 children. Because for him, breaking the curse of rejection is what matters most!

Today God has blessed me with 6 children whom I love with my life, an opportunity to break the curse of rejection and change the narrative.

Beautiful Anita Nderu leaves Team Mafisi confused after declaring that she is a member of LGBTQ Community

Published

on

Kenyan media personality Anita Nderu has sparked mixed reactions online after announcing she is a member of the LGBTQ community.

Nderu, a former presenter at Capital FM, revealed this through a post on her Twitter page on Thursday, saying she hopes her kids will not be subjected to what she has gone through for being LGBTQ.

“I hope my kids never have to go through what I have gone through for being LGBTQ+,” Anita wrote.

Her announcement comes weeks after she came under heavy criticism from social media users for hosting two gay men on her YouTube show. Anita later defended her show, saying her guests were only friends who decided to show their real selves.

In July this year, Nderu said she would not apologise for hosting members of the LGBTQ community on her cooking show, ‘The overdressed cook’.

The video, which was meant for viewers over the age of 18, caught the attention of many, which led to her trending for days.

Speaking to Massawe on Radio Jambo, Anita said she respects people’s opinions but she will not apologise.

She said she has always been open about different things happening around, and so this being pride month, she decided to invite some of her friends on the show.

“I simply asked my friends to come on my web show and be themselves. What any of us have chosen to do on the show is how each of us is. Nothing about my show is scripted. What you see from the guests, food to outcome is what actually genuinely took place,” she said.

Anita has not been secretive about being a staunch supporter of Kenyan lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) persons.

“As people, we should celebrate our differences, encourage authenticity & wonder at the diversity of humanity. We all have a right to love and be loved. Have an amazing day,” she added.

Here is why people think I am gay, Kenyan woman opens up

Published

on

The Kenyan woman had been rumored to be a lesbian for a long time but no one was quite sure whether that was indeed true.

Not that being gay ia an unusual or a new thing. However, a lot of eyebrows are still being raised when it comes to the issue perhaps because homosexuality is considered an illegal activity in Kenya

Sometime in October 2017 Patricia Kihoro was rumored to have been caught pants down in a lesbian threesome with some other Kenyan women.

But now the Popular Vlogger, actress and singer says her efforts to keep her love life private was the sole reason that led to speculations that she was lesbian.

At the time, it was reported that Kihoro was in a relationship with a well-known female Kenyan rapper and as well as another female media personality.

But the 34-year-old says she has always dated men but kept her relationships low key, which explains why people started speculating she was playing for the other ‘team’.

DATING MEN

“For the longest time, I was dating men. If you go through my Instagram over the years I didn’t even hide. I would post people but it wasn’t like lovey-dovey stuff, if you were keen you would see who I was dating at the time. I would post them in the context that this is somebody in my life but I wouldn’t reveal in what way they are in my life. I think of how private I kept that side of my life, people then speculate, start to make up things,” Kihoro said.

Kihoro shot into the limelight back in 2009 when she took part in the singing competition Tusker Project Fame 3 where she was among the finalists.

She later landed a job as a presenter for Homeboyz Radio and also ventured into acting. Over the years she has also been a very active YouTube vlogger and brand influencer.

“I have been accused of being a lesbian but first of all, it is not an accusation, because calling me a lesbian is not an insult as I have met wonderful human beings who are homosexual and are far better than people who have stood in certain standards of judging others.

So that is why I never speak about it. I am who I am, you know! I know what I stand for and my family knows what I stand for,” said Patricia.

Patricia further revealed that her mother has been very supportive of her work and opinion. She reveals that her first interaction with gay people was courtesy of her mother.

“My mother has supported my work from the start and she always respects my opinion. The first people I ever met who were openly gay were friends of my mum. I was probably 16 years and she didn’t make a big deal about it, and therefore I also did not learn that was a big deal,” revealed Patricia.
