BY KEVIN KOECH

ODM Director of Communications Philip Etale on Friday, August 21, raised an alarm after belongings worth of thousands were stolen from his vehicle.

Etale, who had gone to visit a friend in Kinoo, Kiambu County, disclosed that his vehicle had been broken into by unknown individuals.

The ODM communications boss indicated that the break-in had been carefully orchestrated as his vehicle’s alarm did not go off.

“I had left my laptop, two phones, a wallet, my medical covers, ATM cards, and all of them were stolen. I feel so bad,” he disclosed.

Etale has since reported the matter to the Kinoo police station and investigations have been launched.

According to section 322 of the penal code, a person who handles stolen goods is guilty of a felony and is liable to imprisonment with hard labor, hence, the culprits could face a term not exceeding fourteen years if caught.

There has been a surge in reported cases of theft especially in Nairobi and its environs, with some suspects caught in the act by CCTV cameras.

The incident came almost two months after police officers in Mombasa County arrested nine suspects believed to be part of a gang involved in car break-ins and theft.

The nine were arrested in the morning by DCI detectives at Furaha Apartments in Nyali.

“On searching the house, several rolls of bhang, a shisha pot, a packet of shisha, Ksh.100,000 in one thousand denominations and assorted mobile phones were found,” read the statement in part.

The investigative body further detained three vehicles (Toyota Allion (KCV 751S, Toyota Mark X (KBV 161Q) and Nissan Note (KCG 448C)) believed to be used by the gang to get away.

Body shaming seems to be the order of the day on social media and pubic figures are the most targeted.

Milly Chebby, Lynda Nyangweso, Neomi Nganga, Yummy Mummy and Sandra Dacha aka Siprosa are among the many who’ve been body shammed and they campaign for body positivity.

KBC presenter Regina Ray Manyara has revealed that she was recently body shammed by a woman.

She also narrated how she couldn’t secure a job in the media because they were hiring slim women only.

‘SOME LADY CALLED ME FAT….yes
Anyway other than it making me question like who asked for your opinion?
I went back to years, while I was starting my career where for one to anchor/become a TV presenter required one to be slim fit!( perception silent clauses) I was left out of the qualifying list often on account of body size…but here I am today-Doubling as a reporter and newscaster. Long story short…If you are concerned about my weight or anyone’s ( seek them out personally only if you have a remedy!)
Besides, if my size doesn’t bother me, why should it bother you?
*GO FIND WHO HURT YOU*
#bodyshamingiswrong
#bodyshamming IS real!’ she posted.

@MatthewMuhindi: Yeah lesbian couples can get kids @AnitaNderu, you can use the IVF method in vertro fertilization ..

In this option, one partner provides the eggs, which are fertilized with donor sperm, and the other carries the pregnancy… All the best.

@Sesyline_KE: Funny Kenyans don’t know Lesbian couples can have kids, am happy for Anita, I really don’t mind who people choose to be with I hope in the future things change.

@Josefmasta: Whichever way you describe it a man will be involved even if it’s just donating sperms.

@Out_look470: For me and my body I shall always do what the Bible says, hakuna mahali tumeambiwa eti Sarah saw her sister and she bore her a son named Isaac. Hakuna!
