Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) journalist and video editor Betty Mutekhele is dead.
According to reports, the journalist was shot by thugs at her home in Ololua, Ngong on Wednesday night, April 8.
Witnesses said Betty arrived home at around 8 pm when thugs who were at the gate forced their entry into her compound after the house help opened it.
They then proceeded to the parking area and instructed Betty to take them to the house where her husband and children were.
While in the house, the thugs demaded for money and ordered her to take them to the master bedroom upstairs.
A gunman who had escorted her reportedly argued with her and moments later, gunshots rendered the air.
Betty was shot twice in the head.
The robbers took off with her laptop and mobile phone.
Betty had worked at KBC for over 12 years, having joined the state broadcaster in February 2009.
