A drive from the Beautiful city of Pittsburgh to IUP

Published

Welcome to Pittsburgh, the “City of Bridges.” We’re on our way to Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and we’re passing through Pittsburgh, the state’s second most populous city. Pittsburgh has the most bridges than any city in the world, with a total of 446. We passed through several of them on our way to Indiana City, the home of IUP. It is a city with a rich culture and many firsts, including the first retractable roof stadium (Civic Arena) in 1961.

Given that I am an alumni, this is a journey that brings back many memories. Pittsburgh also had the world’s first commercial radio station, which began broadcasting presidential election results on November 2, 1920. The beauty of this city can only be appreciated up close as we travel through the stunning roads and intricate highways to reach Indiana. We are on this journey to formalize the Kenya Airlift Program’s partnership with the institution.  This is a commendable milestone we have achieved as a program among other schools we have partnerships with.

The video provides more insight on the same.
