We regret to announce the passing of Kihurani Gakuu from East Cain Township in Chester County, Pennsylvania. He passed away in a tragic accident while practicing at the Skyline Drive near Drenken Field during the trials for this year’s Pennsylvania Hill Climb Association Championship Series.
He is survived by his children; Alex Kihurani who resides in London, United Kingdom, and Susan Wairimu Kihurani Skinner who resides in Washington D.C.

He was a loving father-in-law to Preema Gakuu and Travis Skinner and a devoted grandfather to Selah and Asa Kai Kihurani Skinner, and Ziana Gakuu.
Kihurani Gakuu was husband to the late Bimpe Osifo Kihurani and ex-spouse to Karen Kihurani, with whom he remained friends to the end, and is mother to Alex Gakuu Kihurani and Susan Wairimu Kihurani Skinner.
He was the ninth-born child of the late Mr. Nahashon Gakuu and the late Martha Wairimu Gakuu. He is survived by his siblings: Mrs. Christine Mumbi Ng’ang’a, Mrs. Agatha Nyambura Maltai, Mrs. Anne Wangeci Ndegwa, Mrs.Wanjiru Muriithi, Mrs. Mwarania Maina, Mrs. Kagendo Murigu, and Mr. Githui Gakuu.
He was preceded in death by his other siblings: Cecilia Gakenia Waweru, Jane Muthoni, Faith Nduta Murigi, and Geoffrey Muthumbi.
He was brother-in-law to Prof. Maitai, Mr. Samuel D. Muriithi, Mrs. Sally Muthumbi, Dr. Maina Kanyi, Mrs. Joyce Wairimu Githui, the late Ishmael Ng’ang’a Kimani, the late Mr. Joseph Waweru Kamunya, the late Mr. Benard Murigi, the late Willis Murigu and the late Kenneth Ndegwa.
He was passionate about motor-sports and regularly participated in them. This endeared him to his numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, grandchildren, and many other family members.
There shall be a memorial service on Thursday 7th September, 2623 at 12 noon, at All Saints Cathedral, Nairobi.
His loved ones will dearly miss his love, kindness, friendship, compassion, and leadership.
