Ms. Felistah Nafula, 36, sought medical attention after suffering from abdomen aches she thought were ulcers for 11 years.
The issue arose weeks after she gave birth to her first kid via Caesarean section in a Kitale hospital.
But as the years passed and she was about to start her twelfth year with her issue, doctors began to worry that her issue was more serious than just ulcers.
She was scheduled for the theater at Maragua Level Four hospital in Murang’a County after a number of tests revealed she was harboring something metallic in her stomach.
On February 2, after a two-hour procedure, the physicians showed her what they had discovered: an old surgical blade.
The surgical team was lead by Dr. Kairo Kimende, the hospital’s medical director said the blade was discovered in the abdomen wedged between the uterus and the small intestines.
