Since the government unfroze his money yesterday, more than 200 harambees, according to deputy president Rigathi Gachagua, have welcomed him.
SA High Court decision ordering Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua to give the government Sh200 million was overturned by the Court of Appeal on Wednesday.
The High Court froze Sh200 million that belonged to Mr. Gachagua in 2020 while it was awaiting a petition from a State agency requesting that the money be forfeited to the government
During today’s post-election conference in Mombasa, Mr. Gachagua told senators that those close to him had already begun making plans for the money.
“You know the Uhuru government took my money but it was released yesterday, now everyone is planning for that money. Everyone has invited me to their harambees because it sounds like a lot of money” he said.
