Eric Omondi has expressed regret for publicly debating Jackie Maribe’s son’s paternity with her.

The well-known comedian says in an online interview that he had to fight the TV girl publicly in order to “defend his brand.”

He said: “I regret denying that child in public. I spoke about it and the blogs blew it out of proportion”

“I wanted to clean my brand since fake stories had been said about me. In the process, I tainted the child in bad light although that was my truth. I was (then) advised to keep quiet. We did not solve the whole issue but I have a good relationship with the child and also with Jacque Maribe. She is a good friend.”

In 2021, Jacque Maribe accused the comedian, who prides himself as the president of comedy in Africa, of being a deadbeat dad.

The accusation raised varied reactions, with a section of Kenyans urging the comedian to man up.

The comedian retaliated by requesting a DNA test before he could take up the fatherly responsibility.

“We used protection and after two months she told me she was pregnant! I immediately ask her how since we used Protection??? She then told me ‘it doesn’t matter the mother always knows who the father is and that I am the father’,” he explained.
