Manchester Close in Ongata Rongai’s Kandisi neighborhood is typically a tranquil neighborhood, with the exception of the occasional cock crow that pierces the silence.
While the neighborhood appears calm during the day, a woman was held up at gunpoint by six armed robbers early on Sunday.
The woman arrived home about 2am, and as she pulled into the compound, the thugs confronted her, according to CCTV footage that has since gone viral.
After a brief battle, the robbers—who were equipped with various weapons, including AK47 rifles—used a sword to break into the Mercedes E-250’s driver’s side until the victim gave up.
The goons then frog-marched her to the residence, where they plundered everything while pointing their pistols at her. The experience has left the family still reeling.
“The victim is still in shock from what happened. We understand that the robbers had attacked a nearby home before coming they came to our house,” a family member who wished to remain unnamed revealed. “They ransacked the house for about 20 minutes before they left,” he added.
With several devices and an undetermined sum of money, the thieves then took off. Investigators searched the house for additional leads for more than three hours on Tuesday afternoon. They also tool family members’ statements on the incident.
Residents say that not too long ago, another incident in the neighborhood was reported utilizing a similar approach to enter the house.
