We are accustomed to witnessing the standard government handovers, in which the outgoing official greets the new boss to the city, they exchange pleasantries, primarily for the cameras, pose for a picture, and then go about their daily lives.
David Osiany, the former Chief Administrative Secretary for the Ministry of Industrialization, Trade & Enterprise Development, will be turning over to seven, yes, seven new CASs, so things will be very different for him.
Osiany also served as interim chief administrative officer at the East African Community, the ASALs & Regional Development, and the Ministry of Cooperatives & MSMEs, which was a joint responsibility of the Trade and Agriculture Ministries.
On Thursday, President William Ruto named an astounding 50 new CAS, an increase from the 29 appointed by his predecessor, Uhuru Kenyatta.
For that reason, there are ministries with a staggering three CAS each while the rest, save for two – Ministry of Energy and Petroleum and Ministry of Defence – have two each.
At the Ministry of Industry, Trade & Investment, Osiany will hand over Evans Kidero, Vincent Kemosi Mogaka and Lilian Cheptoo Tomitom.
He will then move over to the Ministry of Corporatives & MSMEs where he will welcome Margaret Wanjiru and Amos Chege Mugo.
Mr Osiany will then rush over to the Ministry of EAC, ASALs & Regional Dev’t where he will hand over to Mwanamaka Mamruki- Ministry of EAC, ASALs & Regional Development.
