Kenya’s Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has reiterated the Kenya Kwanza administration’s commitment to prioritizing Kenyans who supported it in the allocation of government jobs and development projects.

Speaking in Mosop Constituency, Nandi County, Gachagua led other government officials in attending a church service and later a fundraiser at Kurgung Boys High School.

He urged the people of Nandi County to be patient as the government works on development projects and employment opportunities that will prioritize supporters of Kenya Kwanza.

Gachagua’s remarks echoed his previous statements that sparked public debate about preferential treatment for government supporters. He emphasized the importance of recognizing those who voted for the government, stating that when there are many children, some must be prioritized.

He also addressed the issue of illicit brews, announcing that the government would announce strict measures to address the problem, including forcing those selling illegal alcohol to leave the country.

Other Kenya Kwanza leaders present discussed the government’s priority agenda items, including the passage of the Affordable Housing Bill, 2023, aimed at ensuring that all Kenyans, including young people, have access to jobs after completing their education.
