James Orengo, governor of Siaya, and his wife Betty Kaari Murungi are delighted parents after their daughter got married in a private ceremony.
In a photo seen by local media, Orengo and his wife were escorting their daughter down the aisle in preparation to take her to her partner.
Lavender Orengo wedded her partner only identified as Albert.
Daughters are traditionally walked down the aisle by their fathers. She is then offered to her lover for marriage when they reach the altar.
Three boys and four girls make up the family of seven that Orengo and his wife Betty have (Michael, Bob, Steven, Zeni, Josephine, Lavender and Lynette Orengo).
The governor’s wife, Betty Kaari is a professional lawyer and human rights defender and sister to Kiraitu Murungi.
Orengo is one of the public figures that keeps his family out of sight. Little is known about his family, however he has frequently acknowledged his children as they reached significant life milestones.
