Gov’t declares Monday, 10th October a public holiday to celebrate Utamaduni Day

Interior Cabinet Secretary (CS) Fred Matiang’i has declared Monday, October 10, a public holiday.

On Friday, October 7, Matiang’i announced that day would be designated as Utamaduni Day in a statement to newsrooms. Kenyans were advised by the Interiors CS to mark the day by recognizing our rich cultural variety.

“It is hereby notified that Monday, October 10, 2022, will be a public holiday (Utamaduni Day).”

“All citizens are reminded to honour the day by recognizing and celebrating the rich cultural diversity of Kenya in a manner that promotes our unity, national cohesion, and economic progress,” part of the statement read.
