The mystery surrounding the identification of the woman who perished on January 17 at Juja’s Dam in Kiambu together with a businessman has been solved.
Fridah Warau Kamuyu’s body was identified as belonging to her family on Thursday by a family from Mathioya in Murang’a county.
Since the sad incident’s day, the body had been kept in the morgue and had been marked as unknown.
The man with whom she drowned together was identified as Titus Kiiru, a businessman who friends described as one who loved to help the less fortunate in society.
The two were reportedly having a good time for over an hour before an argument started, according to witnesses.
According to reports, the man started the Nissan X-engine trail’s and put it in reverse. As the car plunged into the sea, they perished.
Police have not yet determined the circumstances surrounding the occurrence.
The woman’s body was found that evening, although it had no identification.
“We only managed to recover the body of the woman. It’s like she had tried to swim out and had moved towards the bank but unfortunately, she didn’t make it,” diver Martin Ngugi said.
The man’s body and the car were retrieved the following day.
