I’m fine- Citizen TV’s Swaleh Mdoe allays fears after suffering food poisoning

Anchor Swaleh Mdoe, a Citizen TV’s Swahili News has allayed any fears over his health after suffering from poisoning.

On boxing day, several Royal Media Services (RMS) staff complained of severe stomach pain after the team working the Christmas shift ate food from outside catering.

He took to Twitter to assure everyone that he is in good health after the unfortunate incident.

“Let me take this opportunity to thank all my friends, relatives and fans who called me to find out about my condition following the food poisoning incident at my workplace,” he said.

“I am ok,” he assured.

Yesterday,a staff with the Royal Media Services which owns among other stations Citizen TV, Inooro Tv among others succumbed to an illness suspected to be caused by food provided to the staff by the company.

According to a Memo sent by the Managing Director Wachira Waruru, Royal Media had contracted a private catering company to provide the staff with food during this Christmas season.
“We are deeply shocked and saddened to inform the public that one staff member has unfortunately succumbed to the illness attributed to the suspected food poisoning,” he said.

Adding:”In keeping with holiday period working arrangements, the RMS engaged a private food catering company to provide meals for staff working during the Christmas shift,” he said.
