A family in Loitokitok, Kajiado South Sub-county, is devastated by the abduction of their daughter.
The morning of January 8, 15-year-old Eunice Nthenya Maingi vanished after leaving her parents’ Kiwanjani house for a nearby church. The first-form student failed to show up for church, and her family hasn’t heard from her in two weeks.
“I was shocked to learn my daughter never made it to church. I thought she would come back home in the evening. We have spent sleepless nights in the last two weeks. Our search in hospitals and morgues have been fruitless,” her teary mother Nancy Maingi said.
On January 10, the family formally reported the incident to the Loitokitok police station. Although they have assisted in the search for her, her relatives and neighbors have been unable to locate her.
“She is a jovial girl. She was on good terms with all family members by the time she disappeared. She had high aspirations in her education,” she added.
Eunice was supposed to start form one this week as schools began for the new semester today.
The family is asking the public for assistance in finding their missing daughter. Anyone with information on her whereabouts is urged to contact the local police station.
