Among those discovered dead with their body parts hacked off in Kijabe Forest, Kiambu County, were a Twitter influencer and three of his buddies.
The influencer is one of four close friends who vanished a week ago in Nairobi’s Kasarani neighborhood. According to reports, a fourth body linked to the other three was discovered in Magadi, Kajiado County.
The three victims were severely dismembered, and Lari OCPD Anderson Furaha told local dailies that it appears they were strangled and then had their privates parts chopped off.
“One of them had been partly eaten by wild animals. Their private parts had been amputated and it seems they died through strangulation. They had no identification documents and were naked,” Mr Furaha said.
Since then, it has come to light that Frank Obegi and three of his pals may be among the three unidentified remains that Lari residents found in Kiambu on Sunday.
The four were identified as Mr. Obegi, his friend Mike, Eli, and an unnamed victim by Twitter users on Monday night. The Nairobi City Mortuary is now keeping the bodies in storage.
The four are said to have vanished from Kasarani, Nairobi County between Monday and Wednesday of last week before the horrifying discovery.
According to family sources connected to the four, two of the guys went to submit a missing persons report after one of their buddies went missing, only for them to also vanish.
One body was found on Saturday, and three more on Sunday, and locals in Lari notified the police of their existence.
“We suspect that the four were killed elsewhere and their bodies dumped within this area,” Philip Kamau, one of the locals said.
“All the four bodies had deep cuts to the neck, and chopped private parts. We are now scared because this is new to this area,” he added.
Mr. Furaha stated that inquiries had been launched to find the murderers.
