The terrible loss of Mlati Gibson Mjomba, affectionately known as “Obama,” who perished in what officials believe to have been a microwave explosion, has left the Kenyan community in Dubai in mourning. Details show that on Saturday, August 12, the unfortunate incident took place at his home in Alnahda 1, Sharjah. One of the Kenyans living in the UAE, Faridah Nicholas, told TUKO.co.ke that the 50-year-old was likely killed when a microwave overheated and burst.
“He was staying alone, so by time people were coming to save him, he was already gone,” she revealed, adding that Obama had been okay and healthy before his demise.
Obama moved to the Middle East in 2002, and according to Faridah, he has worked for several different companies and plans to join another one next month.
