A Kenyan ICT professional who went missing in December 2020 in Virginia, USA, has been found dead.

The body of the 27-year-old Weldon Kipsang Bett was discovered in a wooded area near Norfolk, bringing to an end a three-month search which began on December 14, 2020.
According to a diaspora website, Mwakilishi News, Bett who moved to the US in 2014 to study, was last seen at the Janaf Shopping Center on E. Virginia Beach Boulevard.
Following his suspect disappearance, the family in conjunction with the authorities launched search with more reports indicating his phone and car were traced to a certain yard.
The Kenyan community in the US appealed for financial support to enable them fly Bett’s body back home for a befitting send-off.
“The Kenyan community here in the USA and family in Kenya are planning to transport his remains for burial in Kenya,” said Erick Kebenei.
