Kenyans have threatened not to take part in the 9th August elections if no leader comes to their rescue before then. They claim if  a politician means to save Kenyans, one should come with ways to reprieve citizens from the high cost of living.

In an interview with KSN Media, Sammy Kwemoi Temoi, the chairman of the Kenya Peace Consortium said that neither the sitting nor aspiring leaders and politicians have prioritized young people in their manifesto. Mustafa Abdi, his assistant added that they’re neither recognized as youths nor business people so they are non existent, the hardships they are experiencing currently is traumatizing as most of them earn below Kshs.6,000 monthly and have families depending on them.
“We shall not vote if our own leaders are not even appreciating our existence, they should know that our votes matter regardless of our status,”Abdi complained.
The loaders and touts have also requested leaders in power or any other well wishers donate wheelbarrows, spades and mkokoteni as well as build them a shade and toilets for them to ease their daily experience. The situation may continue to worsen with the rocketing prices of petroleum products. High cost of living crisis the citizens are experiencing will not be reflected in official statistics traditionally, central bank became more concerned whenever there were upsurges in underlying inflation (jargon for inflationary pressures in the economy arising from factors other than increases in prices of food and fuel).
