Kivutha Kibwana among 14 candidates shortlisted for EACC chairperson

shortlist of 14 candidates for the job of Chairman of the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) in Kenya has been made public by the Public Service Commission (PSC).
Those who have reached the shortlist include Kivutha Kibwana, the former governor of Makueni County, Thomas Letangule, former IEBC commissioner, and renowned attorney Charles Kanjama.
The other contenders are Eliud Wanjao Ngige, Amani Yuda Komora, Kaberia Isaac Kubai, Benjamin Adam Mure Mweri, and Abdihafd Abdullahi Yarow.
Others include Justa Wawira Mwangi, Kenneth Sakwa Buliba, Susan Nekesa Ngera, David Adang Oginde, and Josiah B. Onyancha.
Eliud Wabukala will be replaced by the chosen candidate after he retires on January 17, 2023. 
Wabukala presided over the EACC for six years and was previous head of the Anglican Church in Kenya.

On January 20, 2023, the PSC issued an invitation to qualified Kenyans to apply for the position after it had been promoted in print media and on its website. On February 2, 2023, the application period came to an end with 89 applications submitted.

The PSC offices on Harambee Avenue will host the interviews on February 27 and 28

Original copies of the candidates’ identification documents and clearances from relevant government agencies must be brought.

By February 24th, members of the public may also submit any verifiable information about any of the candidates online at hodrands@publicservice.go.ke or through sworn affidavits
