Kris Senanu, Safaricom’s Chief Enterprise Business Officer, has resigned. Mr Senanu will depart the telco on May 31 to “pursue other interests,” according to the company.

Following his departure from Telkom Kenya, he joined Safaricom in June 2021.

Mr. Joseph Wanjohi will act as an interim replacement for Mr. Senanu, according to Safaricom CEO Peter Ndegwa. “He has been instrumental in implementing the Enterprise Business Unit’s first mission and development of the division’s second mission,” Mr Ndegwa stated.

“During his time, he has re-established and enhanced Safaricom as a leader in the enterprise space, grown the mobility business, and initiated digital transformation initiatives to enable SME DIY (do it yourself) platforms. Kris has also worked to reduce the enterprise fixed churn.”

Mr Senanu is a veteran in Kenya’s ICT industry. He was the managing director of Telkom Kenya’s Digital Service Delivery Unit before joining Safaricom. He had previously worked for Internet Solutions Kenya (Access Kenya). He also runs a number of enterprises.
