Kenyan singer Lil Maina has opened out after being hailed by online users for bringing back Gengetone music, which had been languishing for some time.
Lil Maina joined the conversation on the Rebirth of Gengetone genre that Kenyans have been having for the past few days.
After the release of his new song, Ngwai featuring Danski, three months ago, the star was associated with the genre’s resurgence.
Fans have given the song credit for that statistic because of its viral nature, particularly on Tiktok. Furthermore, the Gengetone era has been reignited by a new crop of rising talents.
As of now, Jeremy Maina, also known as Lil Maina, is based in America and is totally committed to creating content. He further stated that he is working on an album.
Sharing a day in his life on YouTube, the star revealed that he moved to the US to be with his mother. This is after the untimely death of his grandfather.
“I’m learning how to do my production and everything.”
“I don’t know my future plans really. I just knows that nimekam (to the USA) and it’s life-changing. The way I was living in Nairobi was fast, ningedai kukaa bado but unajua lazima nifuate mokoro.
