Over 45 Kenyans have been cleared to run for President as independent candidates in the August General Election, even as major political parties plot spirited fights against politicians going it alone.
Below is the list of candidates seeking to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta on an independent ticket.

This will be the longest list of presidential election ballot papers since multi-party elections in 1992 if all of them go through the final hurdle and are cleared to contest by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
7,212 others will be contesting independently for other positions nationwide.
