Police have arrested a man who allegedly forcibly terminated the pregnancy of his 17-year-old daughter.
Mtosanga Keah was yesterday arraigned before Mombasa Principal Magistrate Vincent Adet and denied charges of procuring an abortion for his daughter.
The court heard that, on November 29 at Vyemani area in Likoni Subcounty within Mombasa County, he, with another person not before court, unlawfully supplied drugs to a child aged 17 years with an intention of procuring a miscarriage.
The court heard that Keah, alongside a man who is believed to have impregnated the minor, came up with a plan to have the latter undergo abortion so that the defiler escapes prosecution for the offence.
Keah is believed to have resolved the matter at a fee. Police were later alerted of the case by the minor moments after she was forced to take the drugs that led to her miscarriage. Adet ordered the suspect to be released on a Sh300,000 bond. The matter will be mentioned on January 29
