A man was yesterday found guilty by a Nairobi court of attempting to steal money from an Automated Teller Machine (ATM).

Richard Omondi commited the crime on February 24, 2023,  at the Nairobi Cooperative Bank branch on Moi Avenue.

According to evidenced adduced in court, the accused was found in possession of Charles Ogengo’s Bank card on the specified date at around 4 p.m.

The Milimani court heard that when Ogengo attempted to use an ATM to take cash, his card got stuck in the device.

He asked Omondi to assist him in retrieving the card.

He appeared before Chief Magistrate Susan Shitubi and admitted to committing the crime and begged the judge for mercy, saying that he had no desire to take  Ogengo’s money.

Shitubi will sentence him later.
