An alleged epileptic attack claimed the life of a 54-year-old man in a matatu in Nairobi’s Kamukunji neighborhood.
When the event occurred on Saturday night, Peter Gitonga was traveling to Umoja in a matatu with his coworkers after spending the day at a construction site.
Witnesses said he yawned, stretched and fell asleep but never woke up again.
When the tragedy was reported to the driver, he immediately drove to the police station, where officials corroborated the fatality.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending probe. Epilepsy can lead to death if not well handled, officials said.
