Mark Masai, Smriti Vidyarthi celebrate as they mark 13 years on screen together
On Wednesday, October 6, NTV’s Mark Masai and Smriti Vidyarthi celebrated 13 years of anchoring news together at the station.
In a video shared by Masai, the duo was celebrated by colleagues at a small party held in the office. The clip depicted champagne being popped in honour of their long work partnership.
Both Masai and Vidyarthi celebrated each other via their respective social media pages.
On his part, the newsman acknowledged their great partnership, divulging that Vidyarthi was the one who introduced him to Instagram.
“13 years ago today, Smriti Vidyarthi and I went on air for the 1st time on NTV. What a ride it has been, partner.
Fun fact, she introduced me to IG, as you can see on my first ever post, so here is a post-pronounced toast to her,” he wrote.
Vidyarthi celebrates Masai
Vidyarthi expressed gratitude for Masai, saying he is a great friend on and off-camera.
“Today, I celebrate an incredible working relationship and an even better friendship. Thank you, partner Mark Masai for being my ride or die, on-air, and off-air, for 13 good years!
Damn. Cheers to us,” she wrote.
The journalist further said that the 13 years of success were also made possible by viewers, friends and family.
“Most of all, thank you to all our colleagues, former and present,” she concluded.
Kenyans celebrated their partnership by writing:
“For all those years I have never learned how to pronounce Vidyarthi! Congratulations.”
Peter O. Oruga:
“Congratulations, that’s true work friendship. God bless you guys.”
“Started watching this great team way back in primary, took their ride through high school, flew with them in campus and now I am working.”
“Wow. It’s been a journey, congratulations to them.”
In 2020, Masai celebrated his wife’s birthday with an unorthodox cake.
Given people were focusing on social distancing at the time, he decided to be creative and make his babe’s big day seem interesting.
Instead of the traditional birthday cake with icing on top, Masai gave her mukimo shaped like a cake.
