The family of murdered businessman George Mwangi has pleaded with the police to act quickly and detain everyone connected to the killing of the man whose body was discovered in Kieni Forest, Kiambu County, last Tuesday.
Mother of Mwangi, Priscilla Wanjiru, said the family is still in disbelief over her 58-year-old son’s murder and the identification of his wife, lawmaker Gladys Chania, as the main suspect. The late Mwangi was remembered by his family as a composed family man.
Mwangi’s mother Priscilla Wanjiru said: “We met two days before, to celebrate the birthday of grandparents who were marking 90 years. We greeted each other and he said he is going to his Mangu home. That was the last time and I did not see any problem with him.”
The family would later get a call on Tuesday morning from Mwangi’s wife Gladys Chania notifying them that the businessman had allegedly vanished from their residence.
