Jubilee Party Vice Chair David Murathe says it is time for him to pack and leave the ruling political outfit.

In an interview with NTV on Wednesday, the controversial Jubilee leader says he has already completed his mission and it is, therefore, time to get a well-deserved break from the party leadership.

Murathe says his role was to kick out Deputy President William Ruto’s allies from the ruling Jubilee, a job he says has been done.

He, however, says he has one major role remaining and that is to kick out DP Ruto from the Mt Kenya region.

“Our job was to push those who do not believe in the dream of the party out. I am happy they have found a house called UDA. Our work is done.,” he said.

The Jubilee Vice-chair, who spearheaded the removal of DP Ruto allies from the party, adds that they are going to open a window for the recruitment of a new leadership team.

His remarks come in the back of calls from key party members to have fresh blood in the party leadership.

He, however, says he is not interested in holding any role in the party going forward.

“We are all in an interim capacity and soon we will be releasing a timetable on how we will start campaigns for the party positions from the ward level to the national level. Myself, I am not interested in any position moving forward,” he said.

Calls to have the Jubilee party revamped with a new lot of leadership comes at a time when its political fortunes are, in all appearances, dwindling each passing day.

Recently, Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru admitted that the party needs to be rebranded ahead of 2022 due to the changing political dynamics.

“The rains have beaten us. Our fortunes are dwindling. Intense introspection is demanded,” she said.

A huge number of Jubilee MPs are on their way out of the party and some have already identified their political vehicles ahead of 2022.

Majority of them say they are just waiting for an opportune time to officially announce their exit from the party.

Most of them are allies of DP Ruto who has been technically knocked out of Jubilee to an extent of being declared persona non grata at the Jubilee Headquarters in Pangani.

The DP’s allies now associate themselves with the UDA party. They are still in Jubilee just avoid losing their Parliamentary seats in consequence of leaving Jubilee soon.
