The mother of a suspect who was killed in Unaitas Sacco robbery has dismissed the accusations against her deceased son.
Francis Mulwa Mutila’s mother, Mary Wanjiru Njuguna, claims that her son regularly visited her in Masaku village, Ruiru, while working as a cook in Nairobi.
After identifying the corpse of her son, Ms. Njuguna addressed the accusation that her son was a robber.
“He is my son and he worked in Nairobi as a hotel cook. He has been coming home to Masaku village in Ruiru,” she said.
The deceased had three bullet wounds in his cranium, one in his right shoulder, and one in his back, according to the findings of the autopsy performed on Tuesday, March 21, 2023.
Dr. Kamotho Wetanga, a pathologist, performed the postmortem, and Dr. Peter Muriuki Ndegwa, a physician with the Independent Medico Legal Unit, observed the procedure. (IMLU).
Former police officer Joseph Kang’ethe was named as the other suspect in the robbery last week. Mr. Kang’ethe’s corpse contained three bullets, which were found.
The two suspects were killed, according to the authorities, after a shootout with the officers. The police said the two had made away with an unknown amount of money but officers pursued and caught up with them at Kinyona forest.
However, questions have arisen over circumstances surrounding the death of the two suspects after photos emerged showing the suspects had been arrested before they were reportedly shot dead.
The families of the suspects are demanding answers and justice for their loved ones even as the case continues to unfold.The two were allegedly captured at Kinyona Forest after the police claimed they had fled with an unspecified sum of money.
