Over 10,000 drivers have signed up to use the Nairobi Expressway, which will open to the public on Saturday.
Motorists can register to utilize a manual payment system or install an automatic electronic payment system that allows them to pass through tolling stations more quickly. There is also the option of using cash payment mode.
During a tour of the 27-kilometer road, members of Parliament’s Transport Committee expressed satisfaction with the work that had been done in preparation of the Saturday opening.
“The road is complete and we are satisfied with all the works that has been done. What we were looking for during this inspection is whether it had security and if it was safe for Kenyans to start using it,” Parliamentary Transport committee Chair David Pkosing stated.
