In connection with a violent robbery that involved a woman in Kayole, Nairobi, two suspects have been detained.
Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) detained the suspects on Thursday evening after the woman was forcibly robbed in the city of her cell phone and other belongings. The accused are Michael Otieno, 28, and Festus Owiti, 30.
Over 50 alleged stolen mobile phones were found at a repair shop run by one of the suspects on the Obama estate, according to DCI.
The suspects are currently being held at Kayole Police station pending arraignment in court to answer robbery with violence charges.
“The two Michael Otieno, 28, and Festus Owiti, 30, were arrested last evening by detectives based at DCI Kayole, following a robbery with violence incident where a woman lost her mobile phone and other valuables,” DCI said in a statement on Friday.
