Sylvia Mbithi, a 31-year-old Kenyan lady broke into tears of joy when she reunited with her 59-year-old Australian fiancé, Richard, at Istanbul airport after two years of separation.
Sylvia told a local publication that she met Richard in Thailand in 2018, where she was working as a teacher for two years.
He later travelled back to Australia, and due to the COVID-19 containment measures, they couldn’t see each other physically.
“I had to quit my job as a teacher in Thailand, travelled all the way to Turkey to meet him. Turkey was the easiest destination for us to meet.” Sylvia said.
“Our reunion was the big sacrifice we both made; quitting a job for the sake of love is not easy, him leaving everything for us to reunite here was hard too,” she added.
The joyful mother of one said plans for their wedding are underway, further advising young people who are in quest of love to put God first and be patient in their lives.
